New Roots revives the honky-tonk spirit in The Green Note basement for this Sunday night session, featuring Dakota Jim and Louisa Jones from Whiskey Moon Face on piano, double bass and vocals. Expect New Orleans classics, old-time jazz standards, the smokiest of barrelhouse blues and the best of the Great American Songbook. They’ll be playing two sets, and on the playlist in the breaks will be the very best in pre-war Americana, from early jazz and delta blues to old-time mountain music and country swing.
