Dublin-born singer songwriter Jenny Lindfors returns with a new moniker and new music. Sailing Stones emerges from a period of self-discovery, self-production, and a new musical approach. Lindfors voice is seraphic, and she possesses extraordinary, poetic songwriting ability. The nostalgia of her chosen sounds, with a spectrum ranging from Laurel Canyon to the analogue ambiences of Bladerunner and Vangelis, enhance the empathetic quality of this inspired, wise music. Her career to date has seen her tour with the million-selling Rumer, and share the stage with Angus & Julia Stone– for this show she will be accompanied by Dan Moore on keys (Rodriguez/ Mark Ford/ Phantom Limb) and Daisy Palmer on drums (Rae Morris/ Goldfrapp/ Vaults).

‘captivating, in a similar vein to Lucy Rose or to early Laura Marling, set apart by the spacious melancholy that’s all its own’. The Line of Best Fit

Genevieve Dawson is a singer songwriter originally from Edinburgh, now based in South-East London. She currently studys composition at the renowned Goldsmiths, College, putting her in the esteemed company of James Blake, Rosie Lowe and a long line of established alumni. Bringing together a frank lyrical style with a warmth and soulfulness that inhabits the same alt-folk terrain as Ani DiFranco, her songs are minimally and sensitively embellished by her excellent three piece band.

New Roots is committed to promoting events that shine a light on up and coming talent in the UK alt-folk scene. It’s committed to providing artists with an environment that is sympathetic to what they do, giving musicians the respect they and their music deserves – for this reason we ask for no talking and no use of mobile phones while artists are performing. Our music policy comes from the kitchen table, the roots of public performance- intimate, acoustic based, high quality musicianship with as little interference between performer and listener as possible.
